A new photo, all day
Bing's photo of the day, a new set of public-domain paintings from The Met every day, a folder on the TV or a USB drive, or an Apple shared album. Optional slow pan and zoom, like a living photo.
Luna Launcher replaces the stock home screen on Android TV and Google TV. You get a beautiful photo or artwork in the background, the clock and weather on glass, and your apps without ads or recommendations in the way.
Free, APK for Android TV and Google TV.

Built for the remote: every screen works with the arrows, OK, Back and Home.

Standard, large minimal, or analogue, with the hour in a ring that fills with the minutes. On the home screen and in the screensaver.
The weather sits in a glass capsule next to the clock. OK unrolls a 5-day forecast with highs, lows and chance of rain.
Big banners, most used first, A–Z, or your own order. One row or two, 4 to 6 per row. Hide the apps you never open.
Run your IKEA Home scenes and see the room temperature, straight from a DIRIGERA hub on your own network. No account, no cloud.
Connects to a news server you host yourself, linked to the TV with a QR code. No password is typed on the TV.
Checks for a new version once a day. Settings → About → Install update, and your settings are kept. Every download is checked against the published file.
The same photos and clock when the TV is idle, with the artwork's title and artist if you like.
No ads, no recommendations, no analytics. It only goes online for the photos, the weather and its own updates. English and Croatian.
Tested on these devices. Other Android TV and Google TV boxes should work too.
You need a computer on the same network as the TV, and Android's adb tool. Nothing needs root, and everything can be undone.
On the TV, press OK seven times on the build number in Settings → About, then switch on USB debugging in Developer options.
Download the latest APK, connect with adb connect, and install it with adb install, plus a few permissions.
Turn off the stock home screen with one command. Press Home, and Luna Launcher opens. From then on it updates itself.
